Back in 2010 we set out to create a space for new community, with little idea what shape it would take. We chose to let ourselves be formed, rather than to set our own course. We've learned that a community can grow by the same kind of miracle that causes flowers to appear where there were only dirt and dry seeds before: "The kingdom of God is like one who casts seed upon the soil; and goes to bed at night and gets up by day, and the seed sprouts and grows—how, that one does not know. The soil produces crops by itself ..."
We like the results of this God-blessed process: a sheltered place with boundaries defined by the people who gather in the gazebo on a given week, by people seeking refuge, and hoping for a fresh perspective. You can read more about our process on this page, learn more about how we think about gazebos here, and get a taste of our thinking about community here.
